Another routine crime thriller in Kollywood-that is Andhadhi for you. But since the issue that it has taken is contemporary, the film may strike a chord with an elite audience.
Plot: This flick focuses on a minister, who involves himself in a huge sum as bribe for approving a solar project. But as a twist, an anonymous person steals the hefty sum from the minister. And here police makes an entry and the film proceeds with different twists.
Arjun and Karthik have done their best. Anjena Keerthi too has tried to come up with a good performance, but she could have worked on her dialogue delivery. Sahitya Jagannathan, Nizhalgal Ravi, Mohan, Chetan and Mohan Raman were natural in their performance.
The dialogues will tickle your humorous bones to an extent. The screenplay is also effective, but the editing could have been better. The camera work is not up to the mark. The plot, which revolves around the shrewd politician, an upcoming businessman and a couple of dedicated cops will surely raise your expectations. Right from the start of the movie the director manages to maintain the suspense element. But still the film is quite dull. Guna’s endeavor in being a cop could have been told more effectively. Also, when we get immersed in the genre of the film, there is irrelevant romance in the film, with the hero and heroine doing a duet! The film making surely shows that it requires more adeptness. Nowadays, the directors have the right plot, but falter when it comes to presentation on screen. Such aspects could be given more importance.
Verdict: Being a low-budget film doesn’t always mean that the film will be good. Andhadhi seemed to have all the ingredients to make it work, but faltered eventually.
