Plot

Aditya Arunachalam, the high-ranked cop visits Mumbai, as he has been designated to finish off the drug Mafia. Aditya is not a regular cop who follows the Police rules. He believes in actions than words. When the human rights commission questions him, he even threatens them. Aditya finds out the primary drug supplier and finishes him off and later, there enters Hari Chopra. He had been in overseas and now returns to India after 27 years. Hari Chopra’s main targets are Aditya Arunachalam and his daughter Valli. Why does he target them? What happens to Valli? If she falls prey in Hari Chopra's net? Watch the movie to know the rest.

Star Performance

Superstar is fantastic as usual. His style, body language, dialogue delivery… everything is perfect as usual. Nivetha Thomas stands next to Superstar in the beautiful performance. Rajini and Nivetha’s dad - daughter bonding is wonderful and their chemistry is astounding. Nayanthara has no important role, yet her presence is felt. Yogi Babu is good with his one-liners and Suniel Shetty is shown as a menacing villain, but that's just on words but not on his character showcase.

Analysis

As usual, this is a regular cop and Mafia clash script. Yet the screenplay is racy and there is an A R Murugadoss touch. Superstar’s dialogues are fantastic and ARM has continued the “Petta” craze and satisfied the superstar fans. Yet some of the characters in the movie should have been written well, including that of Suniel Shetty. Nivetha is the best choice and she had performed exceptionally well. Although we could see the rushed climax, it is also interesting because this is a Superstar movie. Coming to the music department, Anirudh has done a good job. Yet the Petta effect is slightly missing. But the Thalaiva BGM is extremely superb. Santosh Sivan’s cinematography is mind-blowing and Sreekar Prasad’s editing is good. But, some scenes should have been chopped off to minimize the length.

Verdict

It's a Superstar’s movie and if you are a superstar fan, you will definitely visit the theater more than once. If not superstar, then this movie might not have gone big! It's an excellent film by superstar for superstar and his fans. Thanks to Murugadoss for such a magnificent commercial movie!
