Ilami has hit the screen today. Let’s see what this film has in store for us.
The movie Ilami revolves around 18th century plot. It not only concentrates on taming bulls but also has a sub-plot of romance. Anu Krishna's father wants to get his daughter married to the person who tames the bull. Does Yuvan, the hero of the movie, marry Anu Krishna after fighting all odds? Watch the movie to know.
Yuvan (of Sattai fame) is the lead of the film and he has done a pretty good job. He appears in a completely different makeover. Anu Krishna essays the role of an innocent and soft-natured girl and she is the titular character named Ilami (she had essayed the role of Vijay’s sibling in Katthi). She has carried off her role well. Akhil also does a decent job. Kishore essays a meaty character and does a great job.
Julien Prakash who has not only directed, but also taken care of story and screenplay, has worked on a period film. This is something intriguing given the fact that it is his debut film. Also the director has glorified Jallikattu throughout the film.
Being the debut film of the director he has done quite a good job and has focused on the Tamil culture.
The one thing that catches the attention is that he could have balanced the romantic sub plot and the bull taming aspect. However, we get to know lots of details about bulls in the movie.
Well, is there any Indian film without a romantic sub-plot even if the plot is a different subject? Such films can be counted.
• The first half of Ilami is promising.
• There are 5 songs in the movie. and the music of Srikanth Deva is commendable.
the cinematography gels well with the tempo of the moive.
What’s not there?
The second half of Ilami drifts apart. However, the climax is something different and noteworthy.
The movie can be watched once.If the second half is as promising as the first half it would have scored more.
