Plot

Star Performance

SJ Surya excels as Kirubakar aka Ray Dasan. His body language, his eye expressions, and his dialogue delivery are stunning. Raghava Lawrence fits well in the role. Hopefully, this is his best performance so far. Karthik Subbaraj has given enough space for Lawrence to become the showman. Aravind Akash and Naveen Chandra have done a decent job. Nimisha Sajayan fits well in the assigned role and brings out the expressions naturally. Bava Chelladurai is impressive in his performance. Shine and Ilavarasu didn’t have prominent roles, yet they did their best.

The screenplay moves at a decent pace, and we are introduced to the main characters. Karthik Subbaraj’s way of handling the story is excellent and the character placements are fantastic. He has grabbed the call sheet of these talented lead actors and utilized them properly without wasting a minute. The interval block is well shot, and while watching the movie, one can feel that they are traveling along with the story. The writing of strong characters, dialogues, performances, visuals and music composition in Jigarthanda DoubleX are excellent. The background colors perfectly synch with the mood of the scenes, and they are eye-soothing, too.

The performances of the lead stars are the biggest plus
Karthik Subbaraj’s writing is excellent
BGM is amazing, and it is worth mentioning that it was perfectly perfect, especially during the interval block
