Plot

Kaala, a youngster from Tirunelveli settles in Dharavi, Mumbai. He fights for the rights of the Dharavi people and guards them against the land mafia and the politicians. He has a romantic side too. However, his love with Zareena couldn’t continue. Later, he marries Selvi and settles in the family. His life hadn’t been smooth but filled with passion to his land and people. With his iron heart and hands, he saves the Dharavi people. Kaala has no fear and he faces everyone boldly. A man couldn’t be weaponless if he has a strong heart, proves Kaala. Watch the film in theaters to see the game of Kaala, the gangster!

Star Performance

Superstar has always proved that he is a Superstar. His electrifying performances, stunning look and stylish dialogue delivery will definitely impress the non–Rajini fans too. Nana Patekar has just lived in his character. He is so natural and so cool with his performance. Huma Qureshi had given a matured performance. Easwari Rao has done justice to her role. For the first time, she dubbed her voice in Tamil. Special mention to Anjali Patil too!

Analysis

Unlike Kabali, Ranjith decided to give a mass entry to the Superstar and Rajini did it in his style. Super Mass! Ranjith’s characterization is simply superb! Whether it is Nana Patekar or Easwari Rao, he had defined their characters clearly. The costumes and the artworks receive appreciation. Santhosh Narayanan's song and the BGM are astounding. Murali’s camera work is appreciable. Dhanush has left no stones unturned with his production. We hope this is the best climax in superstar’s movies, so far. Thanks to the action department for the super umbrella fight!

What’s There?

Superstar’s mass avatar is the biggest plus
Performance of the stars is really natural
Santhosh Narayanan’s BGM gels with the script
Sreekar Prasad’s editing is appreciable

What’s Not There?

Nothing big as a negative except some minor flaws

Verdict

In total, it is an excellent film that gives a super treat not only to the superstar fans but to the people who love action films. A lot of Goosebumps moments assured while you watch Kaala! Age is just a number and Superstar Rajini proves it. However, it is sure that the dialogues will be inaudible while you watch Kaala, as the fans whistle and clap for Rajini’s each and every action!
