MORE CAST & CREW

Kanchana 3 is the fourth sequel to “ Muni” series. Raghava Lawrence scripted and directed the film. The comedy horror thriller features Raghava Lawrence, “ Oviya,” “ Vedhika,” Nikki Tamboli, Kovai Sarala, “ Sriman,” “ Soori,” Devadarshini and “ Manobala.” Doopadoo composed the music. Raghavendra Productions and Sun Pictures produced the film. Vetri and Sushil Chowdhury are the cinematographers and “ Antony L Ruben” is the editor

Plot

Kanchana 3 has the usual plot as that of its previous parts. Kaali’s soul enters in Raghava’s body and takes revenge.

Star Performance

Performance wise, the usual team, Lawrence, Sarala, Sriman, Devadarshini and Manobala had done their part well. The rest of the cast had done justice to their roles. But, the heroines have no other job than dancing and romancing Lawrence and appear as the glamor dolls.

Analysis

The plot is a usual one in which a kind soul that had been killed enter the hero’s body and takes revenge. The first half is full of horror comedy, where Lawrence is afraid of the ghost and tortures his people. The second half has some interesting elements. The climax is different than the usual Kanchana series movies. However, something is missing in this film, which we witnessed in the previous parts. The music is good. Cinematography and editing are neat. The production values are appreciable. Lawrence has a good appeal in the film. The interval block is finely filmed. Lawrence has concentrated much on the flashback portions and it has come out well. Lawrence has also hinted out for the next franchise too. So, we can expect "Kanchana 4," soon.

What’s There?

  • Performances of the stars are good
  • Horror comedy scenes impress the audiences
  • The climax is different from that of previous films in the series

What’s Not There?

  • Heroines are used as the glamor materials
  • Some grip is missing from that of the previous parts

Verdict

Although Kanchana 3 failed to carry the exciting elements from the previous parts, it impresses the kids and elders. Kanchana 3 is definitely a one-time watch-worthy movie!
