After the death of Rathnavelu, his wife and his son Durai leaves India. When Durai turns 25-years, he and his mom return to their village, as Durai wanted to marry a girl from his soil. The primary motive of Durai is not to marry but to conduct Jallikattu in their village, which is the dream of his dad. To host Jallikattu, Rathnavelu protested and finally sacrificed his life. Now, Durai takes initiatives to host Jallikattu, but Gurumoorthy and Malaisamy didn’t allow him to do. What is the next step of Durai? Watch the film in theaters!
Shanmuga Pandian has fit in the role well. His physique and skin tone suit the village youngster. Like his dad, Shanmuga Pandian’s action scenes are superb. However, he stays back in the dialogue delivery. Meenakshi and Bala Saravanan come throughout the film and have done their role well. Similarly, Vela Ramamoorthy, Mime Gopi and Marimuthu have done justice to their roles. But, the real scorer is Samuthirakani. Even though his role is short-lived, this guy wins the heart of the audiences.
Firstly, we should appreciate Muthiah for choosing a right plot for Shanmuga Pandian. The characterization by Muthiah is good. As a debutant director, Muthaiah has scored well. Production values and technical values are good.
What’s Not There?
The film is emotional and screws up the feeling of the people regarding the tradition. Muthiah has explained certain things in detail, which might impress the audiences. The film is totally the director’s project and he has showcased what all he wanted to deliver. In short, Madura Veeran – The Son of the Soil!
