“Mehabooba” is a period movie, scripted, directed and produced by Puri Jagannadh. This is the debut movie of Akash Puri, son of Puri Jagannadh. Although Akash had been a child artist, this is his debut as a hero. Neha Shetty, Murli Sharma, Ashwini Kalsekar, Vishnu Reddy and Sayaji Shinde play pivotal roles in the film. Sandeep Chowta composed the music and Vishnu Sarma is the cinematographer and Junaid Siddiqui is the editor.
Roshan aspires to join the army and he takes initiatives. Afreen, a girl from Pakistan, comes to India to do her higher studies and wants to escape from marriage with Nadir. Roshan and Afreen meet in Samjhauta Express. Both fall in love and they are separated during the India – Pakistan war. Did they reunite again? Watch the film in theaters.
As Akash had been a child artist, he doesn’t face any issues in front of the camera. He did a decent job and had emoted well. However, he seems to be a bit young for the role. Neha Shetty seems to be a promising actress. She had done an outstanding job in the complex character given to her. Vishnu Reddy, the villain, has done justice to his role and he has a good future in Tollywood. Murli Sharma has done his part well, as usual.
Puri Jagannadh has chosen a good script for his son. The dialogues are good, especially in the climax. The film is a mixture of all emotions and the artists have done their part well. The casting team should be appreciated and they have done a great job in choosing the character roles, well. The BGM and the cinematography are okayish. The production values are good and Puri had concentrated well on all the departments.
What’s Not There?
The film has a good script and the dialogues. Although the stars perform well, the chemistry between the lead stars, which is very important in the film is missing. As a father, Puri has done an excellent job with a grand launch pad for Akash, but as a filmmaker, he hadn’t succeeded in this. However, Mehabooba is a one-time watch!
