Durjoy Dutta wears multiple caps, and he is best known for his tryst with writing novels. Other than being a novelist, he is also a famous screenplay writer for television and an entrepreneur. He was born in Delhi on February 7, 1987. He hails from a Bengali family who got settled in capital Delhi. 

Being born in a Bengali family, Durjoy imbibed the passion for book reading, which is essential for a Bengali family, in his childhood itself.  He was brought up in Delhi where he completed his studies. He graduated in Mechanical Engineering in Delhi College of Engineering, and later he completed his Masters degree in Management Development Institute. He started writing since he was in final year of graduation.

Durjoy Dutta left his monotonous 9 to 5 job to pursue his passion for writing, which he acquired since his childhood days. He had revealed that his parents were strict with him as far as reading is concerned; he was asked to read a lot of books. He was writing blogs for some time, and that is when his friends tapped his talents; they asked him to pen a book.  Since the publishers were publishing the works of youngsters too, he wrote a book named Of Course I Love You at the age of 21. The book was published in 2008. And the book went on to become one of the best sellers at that time, much to the surprise of Durjoy.  In fact, over 25000 copies of this best-seller were sold.  “Hold My Hand,”  “When Only Love Remains” and “World’s Best Boyfriend”  also brought him good acclaim from passionate book lovers.

Before taking up writing, Durjoy worked as an Engineer. Durjoy beautifully showcases the love of the current generation through his books. Durjoy also shares his personal experiences in his books. He is one writer who is a perfect example of a sparkling mind. 

Durjoy's novels “Now That You’re Rich!” and “She Broke UP, I Didn’t!” were released in 2009 and 2010 respectively and brought him great appreciation. And then he wrote a book while he was in Europe named “Ohh Yes, I'm Single..!” and it was a grand success. His next novel “You Were My Crush!” ranked No. three on Hindustan Times Bestseller list. His “If It’s Not Forever!” ranked No.6 Place at the Hindustan Times. His experimental novel “Till The Last Breath...,” stood at No.3 on the Hindustan Times Bestseller list. Durjoy Datta’s first novel from the perspective of a female character is  “Someone Like You” and it was released by Penguin India.  It debuted No.5 at Hindustan Times Bestseller list.

Working in Television happened by chance to Durjoy, and he proved his mettle there too. 
Durjoy also worked on few short films which include “The English Teacher and “Shades of Love”. He also provided stories for some television shows like “Ek Veer Ki Ardaas...Veera,”  “Sadda Haq – My Life, My Choice” and “ Million Dollar Girl Million Dollar Girl, Banaras to Paris. This talented novelist is also invited as guest speaker at many colleges across India. He was appraised as Most Aggressive and Unabashed Young Authors in India.

Durjoy has garnered the Teacher’s Achievement Awards. His even associated with another writer, Maanvi Ahuja for writing his books.
