At backstage, it is revealed that the magician has disguised as a Chinese man. A man approaches him and asks his help to uncover the truth of a woman Sophie, who claims to be a spirit medium. Stanley, the greatest debunker of fake spiritualists, has now been put on a great challenge. Initially, he tries to make fun of her but after meeting Sophie regularly and listening to her, even he starts believing her. It demonstrates the thrilling encounter between Sophie and Stanley. The costumes, vehicles, and make-up, are the archetypes of the 1920's culture. The video received 1,951,587 views on Yahoo movies page.
Magic in the Moonlight has been written and directed by Woody Allen. The theme dates back to the year 1928. Wei Ling Soo, a prominent magician, and a globally famous illusionist mesmerizes people with his acts in a theatre, but once the show has got completed, the crowd becomes stunned to know that he is a British man named Stanley. He is approached by his co-magician friend Howard to expose the truth of a woman named Sophie who claims herself to be a mystic and spiritualist.
In an attempt to disclose her truths to the world and save the wealthy American family who is getting fooled by her words, Stanley and Howard set off to French Riviera. Stanley meets Sophie. Her words and deeds make him believe that she is a spiritualist. When he is about to announce the same to the media, he learns that his aunt has met with an accident. At the hospital, he learns that Sophie and Howard collectively conspired to fool Stanley, so that Howard could demolish his popularity. Stanley forgives them. The film received mixed reviews from the critics.
