Prajin Padmanabhan was born in Kozhikode, Kerala, India on January 1, 1978. This Tamil and Malayalam film actor was born to Padmanabhan and Nirmala and are married to Sandra Amy. He commenced his career as a VJ with Sun TV. Prajin did his debut in the movie Dishyum, a Tamil film starring Jiiva, Sandhya, Undapakru, Nassar, Venkat Prabhu and Anee Malavika. After a four years gap, he made his comeback with the movie Tournament – Play and Replay followed by The Thriller.
He was given a lead role by Oru Thalai Ragam Shanker in Manal Nagaram, a Malayalam-Tamil bilingual in 2015. Karthik has also assisted Mark in a documentary. He has worked in two short films in the US. After coming back to India, he worked more on film making. He also directed a short film called "Kaatchipizhai" in Madurai. With this film, Karthik came into the limelight and also this film got selected for “Naalaya Iyakunar”. He has made many more short films such as Thuru, Black and White, We, React Cause and Effects. In 2012, he made a directorial debut with Pizza; it was a low budget film but also earned a huge profit. Moreover, Karthik has also written this movie.
Karthik has said in an interview that he doesn’t have any specific style of writing. He also said I start writing with an open mind and not thinking about any particular genre. Jigarthanda, released in 2014 has received many accolades. This movie has based on Madurai underworld. His co-actors in this movie are Siddharth, Bobby Simha, Lakshmi Menon and Karuna. He has also won Vijay Award 2015. Karthik is very creative in writing and always work with full dedication.

He directed many hit shows of some leading channels such as Sony, Zee TV, Star Plus, Star One, NDTV Imagine and much more.
