Sandra Amy was born on fifth June 1992, in Kerala, India. From her childhood itself, she had cultivated in herself, a passion towards movies and acting. Her passion led her to the sets of ‘Omana Thingal Kidavo’ which was released in 1996 when she was just four years old. The movie was a huge success, know for its innocent portrayal of children’s feelings and their relation to others. Sandra’s performance as ‘Chinnu’ gained a lot of recognition from the Malayalee audience.
She later performed in three other Malayalam movie, the last one (Kasthooriman) was released in 2003 and she played the second lead character in it. After ‘Kasthooriman,’ she takes a break from acting in movies until 2012 only to reappear in more rewarding roles in Tamil movies. During her break from movies, Sandra commits herself to several T.V shows in which she performs as a video jockey. Her first appearance was on Kiran T.V, hosting ‘Tamil Hits’ in 2005.
After ‘Tamil Hits,’ Sandra takes up two serials in 2009 in Vijay and Sun T.V channels. Her performance in the serails was proofs of her acting skills, which was immediately noticed by many film directors in the Tamil film industry. In 2012, she acted in her first Tamil film named ‘6 Melugu Vathigal’ in a supporting role. She takes it slowly and steadily as she gets another opportunity to act as a supporting cast in a Tamil movie in the same year. Her efforts pay off as she finally gets the chance of playing the lead role in her 2014 movie ‘Sivappu Enakku Pidikkum’.
She gained a lot of attention from the audience after the release of ‘Sivappu’ and got offers to play the lead role in two other Tamil films apart from other supporting roles. She considers returning to Malayalam films if she is offered suitable roles. Sandra Amy is also a professional model and a dancer.
