Batein Kuch Ankahi Si is a daily soap that airs on DD National, at 12 pm from Monday to Friday. This serial started in the year 2012. The serial is about a woman named Megha, who in everyone’s minds is weak and dismissible, but in reality, is strong and independent. This isn’t surprising considering the deplorable state of women in rural India. Megha’s stepmother plays a key role in the serial as she is the one, who had been nagging Megha. Megha carries out social tasks trying to empower the poor villagers.
The stepmother gets furious when Megha refuses to marry a boy chosen by a villager named Durga. Durga is a despicable man, but Megha’s stepmother considers him noble. Prithvi is Durga’s son, who, unlike his father, is a righteous person. Prithvi helps Megha perform social services against her stepmother’s will. The sheer similarity between the characters of the story and people in the society is what drew so many viewers to this serial.
