Manjari is a Hindi TV serial that aired on the channel Sony Pal from Monday to Friday at 10 pm. The serial is about a poor girl named Manju, who falls in love with a rich man, Shounak. Manju is a young woman who took up the responsibility of taking care of her family at a young age, while still studying to clear the 12th-grade exams. She works as a maid at the Deshmukh household, where her now sick father used to work as a driver. Her brother is a drunkard who misuses the money meant for her father’s medical care.

Shaunak is the son of the Deshmukh household, who recently came to India from the States. He is in a relationship with their family friend Devyani. Manju’s mother refuses to let her pursue a college degree unless she marries a man named Kumar. Seeing Shaunak talk to Manju casually, his mother, Malati, warns Manju to stay away from him. Shaunak offers to help Manju study, but she refuses. Manju persuades Shounak to get engaged to Devyani, and they do. When Manju’s mother orders her to stop going to night school, Manju takes up on Shaunak’s offer to teach her English. As Manju and Shaunak sneak around for English lessons, everyone starts doubting them. Manju’s mother, Sangeetha, sets a date for their engagement ceremony. Malati and Shaunak attend the ceremony where Shaunak mingles with everyone well, but Malati feels uncomfortable. On seeing Manju close with Shaunak, Kumar warns her to stay away from men.

Malati fires Manju for spending time with Shounak, but he tells his parents that he has been teaching her English. To prove that, he challenges them to test Manju, and when they do, she passes. As Manju and Shounak spend time with their respective fiances, they both realize that they have feelings for each other, but do not express it. Sangeetha set a date for Manju and Kumar’s wedding. Shounak and Manju meet at a tea stall for their lesson, and Manju confesses her feelings towards Shaunak, and he does it the next day. They continue to see each other, both romantically and professionally. Malati orders Manju to teach her sister, Anju, all the chores to be done at the house as she will leave the job after her wedding. Devyani manipulates everyone and sets a date for her wedding with Shounak. After Manju left the job, Shounak and Manju elope and get married. After knowing this, her family severs ties with her. Manju and Shounak move into a rented house.
