The serial is set in a Gujarati family and revolves around Palak, who is the only daughter of separated parents. She is raised in London, but at the time the show is set, comes to India in order to spend more time with her grandmother. Palak gets admitted to the prestigious Princeton University in Mumbai, where she meets Pranjal and falls in love with him. However, Pranjal’s twin brother, Daksh, also loves her and tries to win her over.
Palak ignores his advances and gets married to Pranjal. Later, Pranjal is found to be dead and Palak seeks solace in the arms of Daksh. However, it is later revealed that Pranjal is actually alive. Pranjal swears to tear Daksh and Palak apart since he thinks that both Palak and Daksh have betrayed him. At this time, he turns into the antagonist as he tries to force the two lovers apart by all means necessary. The serial was part of the efforts put in by the Indian channels to create a more modern and realistic storyline.
