“Kodalu Dhithina Kapuram” is a Telugu language romantic drama broadcasted on Gemini TV. It was initially released in Tamil as Vazhndhu Kaatukiren and was later dubbed in Telugu. The serial tells the story of a young woman named Sasikala and how her life drastically changed after her marriage. Sasikala is a beautiful and bold woman who enjoys life to the fullest, cherishing its moments always. When she gets married, she enters her in-laws with many hopes and dreams.
However, she finds out that her in-laws is a place which is ruled by her mother-in-law Shanti who also happens to be the family matriarch. There are several rules and regulations in the family that Sasikala finds oppressing and unnecessary, but the family members are expected to follow them without any questions. Sasikala vows to make changes in the family to realize that rules are not necessary to maintain a healthy family and that love and trust are the most important things. However, this sets her in a negative light in front of Shanti, and she finds several obstacles in her path. How she overcomes these problems and sets the family in a better light and how she discovers herself in the whole process is what constitutes the rest of the episodes.
