Ashoke Vishwanathan is a Bengali director and filmmaker. He is head of the department of producing the film at Satyajit ray film and television institute. He also works as an occasional lecturer at Jadavpur University. Ashoke Vishwanathan has won two national awards and the Indira Gandhi award for the direction of Shunya. Lighthouse, The Ocean and the Sea was the award-winning documentary of Vishwanathan, which explains the relationship between Rabindranath Tagore, Romain Rolland, and Kalidas nag. His feature films and short films are included in the Indian panorama. In 1997, Vishwanath represented India on contemporary British writing at the Cambridge seminar.
Ashoke Vishwanatham was born in the year 1959. He is the son of actor N.vishwanatham. Ashoke has completed his graduation in mathematics from St Xavier College, Kolkata. He is also a graduate in film direction from the Film and television institute of India. Ashoka Vishwanathan married Madhubani Maitra, a lecturer and an anchor from Girls College.
