Abdul Latif was a Bangladeshi singer born in 1927 at Raipasha village of Barisal District, Bengal. He did his schooling at Ruphshahya High School and further completed higher studies at Kolkata. In 1948, he joined Radio Pakistan and worked as a staff artiste where he wrote more than 1000 songs and later, composed the song Amar Bhaier Rokte Rangano, written by Abdul gaffer Choudhury. Some songs like Ora Amar Mukher Kotha, Shona Shona Lokey Boley Shona, and Ami dam diye kinechi Bangla are also composed by him. He won Ekushey Padak in 1997 and in 2002, was awarded Independence Day Award by the government of Bangladesh. He died on 27th February 2005 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
