David Harewood was born in Birmingham, England on December 8th 1965. He is an actor and director, best known for Blood Diamond in 2006, Supergirl in 2015 and The Merchant of Venice, 2004. On February 26th, 2013 he got married to Kirsty Handy. They have two children. He graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, England. He has been a Joint Member of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. He was awarded an MBE Member of the Order of the British Empire in the Queen's New Year Honors 2012 list for her Drama services.

He has made a name and played a role in the Battlefield 3 video game. He crashed Lotus at a lighthouse in Bermuda, while recording Bermuda Grace in 1994 in 1993, but was not seriously injured. He studied and graduated from Washwood Heath Academy in Birmingham, England. He has one sister, Sandra Harewood, and two brothers, Rodger and Paul Harewood. He currently resides in Streatham, London, England in January 2012.

Harewood is a staunch supporter of Birmingham City Football Club. He appeared at Soccer Aid 2018 as England's most famous goalkeeper. He saved two pennants during the penalty shootout, helping England win the match. The event raised more than £ 5 million from UNICEF, a Harewood-funded charity. Since 2011, Harewood has played the role of David Estes, director of CIA's Counterterrorism Center, in the Showtime Homeland series. And in 2011, he portrayed Captain Quinton Cole in the video game Battlefield 3. On the 2012 New Year's Eve, Harewood was nominated for the Order of the British Empire MBE for the drama. In May 2012, he launched the British Labor Party Election Broadcasting. In October 2013, Harewood announced the British Lung Foundation's collaborative video campaign aimed at banning smoking in children with children riding. In October 2015, he appeared as a key member of the CBS television series Supergirl as Hank Henshaw. As his character is revealed in the article Human for a Day that it is J'onn J'onzz Martian Manhunter who impersonates Henshaw, he portrays J'onn J'onzz as Henshaw as his personality and has a duplicate role as the real Hank Henshaw  Cyborg Superman.
