Born on June 14, 1972, in Essex, Lynford pursued acting at the Mountview Academy of Theater Arts in London from 1989 to 1992. Before that, in 1988, he pursued bachelor’s in technology at Havering College and was active in dance and theater.

He landed theater roles, where he portrayed Ralph in Bouncers and Up On The Roof’s Tim. He landed other roles like Adrian of The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole and Loot’s Hal. He also performed in musical stage shows like Oliver!, The Little Shop of Horrors, Anything goes, and The King & I.

Lynford shot to prominence with the British soap opera EastEnders, where he portrayed the character of Simon Raymond, Tiffany Mitchell’s gay brother. The romantic crime drama focuses on the mundane life of Albert Square inhabitants. Albert Square is located in the East End of Walford Borough and has a pub and a market. The British actor joined the show in 1996 and played Simon for three years.

After EastEnders, Lynford hosted shows like Taste Today, Playdays, Wild Things, and the quiz show Arty Facts, which he also conceived. The Essex-born actor made appearances in other television series like Children in Need in 1996, Blankety Blank in 1998, and This Morning in 1999 and 2001.

He also scripted Disco Crazee, a musical show from the 1970s showcased at the Edinburgh Festival. He has the credit of helming plays like The Cheeky Chappie, based on comedian Max Miller, The Curse of the Werewolf showcased at the Union Theatre in London, and Side By Side By Sondheim.

He directed the play Dirty Dusting which ran at the Gaiety Theatre, Dublin, and worked as a theatre producer for the production house Paul Holman Associates. His other stage shows include Alf Ramsey Knew My Grandfather and Mum’s The Word.

The actor featured in the 2001short film Three-Way Split helmed and scripted by Tania Hoser. He has worked as a casting director for the flick Monster, featuring Justin Hayward, Clair Buckley, and Tracy Shaw.
