Ching Siu Tung is a Hong Kong film-director, action choreographer, and producer, born in 1953 in Anhui in China. Ching Siu has studied at Eastern Drama Academy and has been trained in Northern Style Kung Fu for seven years. He has directed over 20 films. His most praised work was ‘A Chinese Ghost Story’ in 1987, which was a critically acclaimed supernatural fantasy. He also produced a spectacular clip for a French star singer. Initially, he started his career not only as an actor but also as a martial arts instructor. He worked in Hong Kong action cinema in the 1960s and 1970s, and made his directorial debut in 1982 with ‘Duel to the Death’. He made an international sensation with the producer Tsui Hark in 1987 through ‘A Chinese Ghost Story’. He has directed more than twenty films. He has also worked as an action choreographer on several projects.
