He is an America based producer and director who has directed many mainstream movies like 'Taking Lives,' 'I am Number Four', and 'Standing Up.' He has also directed certain episodes of the much talked about T.V. series such as 'The Shield,' 'Smallville', and 'Dark Angel.' Born to Lorraine and Daniel John Caruso, he was born in Norwalk, Connecticut. His ancestors were of Italian origin. He was raised in Norwalk and was sent to Norwalk High School to study. Later, he went to Pepperdine University in California to study Television production. His parents used to run a salon as their mode of earnings. He got an intern at Disney Studios in the Product Placement Department and also worked with Director John Badham, who appointed him as his second unit director. Later on, he worked with writer Scott Rosenberg on a short film named ‘Cyclops, Baby’ which helped him to launch his career as a director. His first mainstream movie was ‘The Salton Sea’ (2002), a stylish thriller which was applauded by the critics but didn’t perform well regarding collection.
