Hafþór JúlÃus Björnsson, born on 26th November 1988, is an actor, strongman, and a professional basketball player. Mostly famous for playing the role of ‘Gregor The Mountain Clegane’ in Game of Thrones, he is the first man to claim all the three titles of World’s Strongest Man, Europe’s Strongest Man and Arnold Strongman Classic in the same year.
He played for the professional basketball team FSU l in 2005 and even helped them in getting promoted from Division 1 to the Premier League. But a chronic ankle injury in 2008 pushed him off the basketball court and inspired him to focus on his strongman career.
Hafþór made his acting debut as ‘The Mountain’ in the 4th season of Game of Thrones. Impressed by his performance, Dimitri Logothetis offered him the role of ‘Mongkut’ in his 2017 film Kickboxer: Retaliation. Amidst the above events, Hafþór played the leading role of ‘King Thor’ in the  Philadelphia Renaissance Faire in 2015.
The 30-year-old has a daughter named Theresa Lif with his ex-girlfriend Thelma Björk Steimann. He is currently married to a Canadian woman Kelsey Henson, who used to work as a waitress. The strongman has also admitted to being in the influence of steroids in the past.
