Malcolm David Kelley

Malcolm David Kelley, the famous child to have played the character of ‘Walt Lloyd’ on the hit drama series ‘Lost’ has been acting since a very young age. He has also explored a career in the music industry with his songwriting and rapping. The young talent was born on May 12, 1992, in Bellflower, California.

Up until the age of one, he was brought up in a foster care center after which the Kelley family adopted him. He has said that since he was into TV during his childhood, he wanted to act in TV shows(and therefore, to be on TV). No wonder he started materializing on the screen in a variety of advertisements and commercials such as Kool-Aid, Tyson’s Anytizers, and Disney. Apart from this he also appeared in shows like ‘For Your Love,’ ‘Malcolm in the Middle,’ ‘Judging Amy,’ and ‘Girlfriends.’ He got his first movie role in the 2002 biopic ‘Antwone Fisher’ and was also a part of the 2004 movie ‘You Got Served.’ Kelley got a breakthrough in the industry when he appeared in the first season of the series ‘Lost.’ Eventually, the audience loved him, and he lasted on the show up until the fifth season.

After ‘Lost,’ Kelley was in a major role in the teen show ‘Gigantic’ where Kelley played a teenager. Kelley played the character of ‘Jim’ on the movie ‘Knights of the South Bronx’ and also appeared in ‘Mississippi Damned,’ ‘The Kings of Appletown.’ Some of the other shows that he has to his credit are ‘Saving Grace,’ ‘My name is Earl,’ ‘Law & Order,’ and ‘Eve.’ Malcolm then explored his love for music and started rapping. Earlier, Malcolm and Tony Oller had been doing covers of songs and posting them on Youtube. In 2012, Malcolm formed a pop duo named Misfit Kids & Total Outcasts (MKTO) with Tony Oller, who was with him on the show ‘Gigantic.’ MKTO released their debut album ‘MKTO’ in 2014 under the Columbia Records label. The single ‘Classic’ released on June 20, 2013, was an outrage among the audience and made it to number 14 on the ‘Billboard Hot 100’.

They also began their music tour of the United States in 2013. Malcolm likes playing Basketball and Soccer. He had gone to represent the United States as a Student Ambassador, to the United Kingdom, with People to People Student Ambassadors. Kelley has also been doing charity. He is the spokesperson of the organization ‘First Star,’ which aids child abuse and neglect victims. He had also featured in magazine Teen People‘s list of eminent teens in the world, for his volunteering activities in helping Hurricane Katrina victims.
