Michael Greyeyes

Michael Greyeyes is a Canadian choreographer, director, actor, and educator who was born on the 4th of June in the year 1967 in Qu'Appelle Valley, Saskatchewan, Canada. Michael graduated with a master's degree in Fine Arts at Kent State University, Michael also graduated from The National Ballet School in the year 1984, after which he proceeded to be an apprentice of the National Ballet of Canada before he joined as a Corps de Ballet member in 1987. Michael performed in several of Eliot's semi-works including Skara Brae, The Jig is Up, and Intermezzo. Michael's acting career began in 1993, after being cast as Juh in Geronimo, his appearance led to him having opportunities to feature in numerous shows including guest performances in Walker, Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman,

Texas Ranger, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and Millennium. Michael continued his dance researching and did more on a traditional dance called Powwow; this has been documented in a documentary titled He Who Dreams: Michael on the Powwow Trail, by Adrienne Clarkson for CBC television. In the year 2010 Greyeyes founded Signal Theatre, the company explores transdisciplinary and intercultural live performances. As a choreographer and Artistic Director, Michael has overseen great works including, From thine eyes, Soldier's Tale, and Nôhkom. Signal Theatre has also produced performance art and Installations, such as Home. Some of Michael's recent acting works include playing the roles of Taylor in the movie Blood Quantum, Brett Woodard in the television show True Detective, and Qaletaqa Walker in the Tv series Fear the Walking Dead.
