Harold Pinter was a British playwright, screenwriter, director, and actor. He was born on 10 October 1930 in Hackney, London. He married twice Vivien Merchant and Lady Antonia Fraser. He has one child. He completed his education at Hackney Downs school. He has worked as an actor, soundtrack, director, and writer. He started his career in a TV movie in 1961 with the drama movie En Tur I Byen. He has worked in 93 TV movies with the last one in 2016 titled National Theatre Live: No Man's Land. He has worked in 53 TV series with the first one in 1950 titled BBC Sunday- Night Theatre. His last work came in 2008 with Au Field De La Nuit. He has worked on 78 TV episodes in these series.

In 1964, he won the Writer's Guild of Great Britain award for best British dramatic screenplay for The Servant and best British original teleplay for The Lover. In 1968, he won Merit Scroll for best British screenplay for Accident. In 1972, he won the Writer's Guild of Great Britain award for best British screenplay for The Go-Between. In 2005 he won the Noble prize in literature. In 1964, he won the New York Critics Circle awards for the best screenplay for The Servant. In 1982, he won the David di Donatello Awards for the best foreign screenplay for The French Lieutenant's Woman.

In 1965, he won the British Academy of Film and Television Arts film award for Best British screenplay for The Pumpkin Eater. In 1972, he won the British Academy of Film and Television Arts film award for best screenplay for The Go-Between. In 1997, he won the academy fellowship in the British Academy of Film and Television Arts awards. He died on 24 December 2008 in London.
