Steve-O is the stage name of Steven Gilchrist Glover, a Stuntman and TV personality. He is best known for being a central member of the MTV series “Jackass”. He has also released DVD’s and did stand-up comedy work whilst living a life mired in controversy and addiction.

His career began with him working at a flea market as a clown. Whilst working this job, he managed to film himself doing stunts. Eventually, he sent many of these videos to a person named ‘Jeff Tremaine’. At the time, Tremaine was the editor of a magazine titled Big Brother Weekly. Later, he would be the director of the stunt show Jackass that made Steve-O a household name. The show was a massive hit, featuring certain cast members performing reckless and often dangerous stunts that led to a self-injury. The show featured a large number of disclaimers advising people not to perform these stunts, but many ended up trying anyway, resulting in either injuries or death.

Eventually, the show was canceled after three seasons. However, Steve-O remained tied to the Jackass brand thanks to the release of movies that were directly related to the series, all which featured him. These movies were titled “Jackass: The Movie”, “Jackass Number Two”, “Jackass 2.5”, “Jackass 3D” and “Jackass 3.5”. Most of these movies did quite well commercially. He even starred in the spin-off series titled “The Wildboyz”, which actually ended up producing more episodes than the series it was based on. Following the end of the spin-off, Steve-O has appeared in several reality shows as well as talk shows, often to promote new ventures such as his DVD releases.

Aside from his propensity for partaking in dangerous stunts, he is known for having an extremely colorful personality. The stuntman has a number of tattoos, including one that covers half his back. The tattoo is a portrait of himself, that includes the self-praising phrase “Yeah dude, I rock!”

Steve-O has struggled with drug and alcohol problems, at one point actually coming close to ending his own life before being checked into rehab. Aside from suffering addictions to a plethora of drugs, he was plagued with issues of depression and even bipolar disorder. After he managed to clean his act up, he did a few stand-up comedy tours and even released his own autobiography titled Professional Idiot: A Memoir.

Since then, he has partaken in a number of ventures including launching his own YouTube channels and appearing on shows both on the internet and TV.
