Andy Butcher

Andy Butcher is an English stuntman, horse trainer, and actor who has been the daredevil behind Hollywood action movies for more than two decades. He was born in the East Anglian county of Suffolk, England, where he attended the Ormiston Sudbury Academy (formerly Sudbury Upper School) in Sudbury. He grew up around horses and so naturally, excelled at riding them. He trained himself in the disciplines of martial arts and boxing as well as gathered the skills in driving performance cars. He worked with numerous great horsemen over the years and honed his skills in equestrian stunts and training horses. He has three sons, who are all following his footsteps. He was honored with the Screen Actors Guild Award for his performance in Robin Hood and nominated for the same for Les Miserables and The Dark Knight Rises. After a decade of getting his bones broken, he decided to start his own business in training and mastering horses.

So in 2013, he founded AB Film Horses, a company which supplies horses for movie and television scenes along with the services of stuntmen. Andy made his debut in the film industry with the supporting role of Cherevin’s guest driver in “Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit” (2014). He also appeared in Mark Lester’s “Dragons of Camelot” (2014). The movie was, however, a flop and failed to impress the viewers but did not affect Andy’s career much since his passion lay in stunts and horses.
