Nitya Mathur

Born on 9th of May in Mumbai, India, Nitya Mathur is a young and talented Indian actress, theatre artist, and writer. Nitya is known for playing the role of Shazia in the Disney+ Hotstar series ‘Taaza Khabar’ in 2023. She debuted in the movie ‘Blurr’ playing the role of Ira in 2023 and is seen in the web series ‘ The Fame Game The Fame Game is an Indian thriller and mystery fa >> Read More... ’ on Netflix as Ayah. She completed her schooling at Vibgyor School, Mumbai, She completed Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication from Sophia College, Mumbai, and a Master of Arts in Acting and Theatre Making from Drama School, Mumbai. She loves listening to music, reading novels, and writing. She is the only child of her parents, Navendu Mathur and Kavita Mathur.

Nitya is passionate about acting since her childhood and worked as a theatre artist in various theatrical productions. She was an active member of the Sophia College English Dramatics Association (SCEDA), a college club that organized theatrical productions and acting workshops. She has also worked as a theatre artist with Thespo, which is a youth theatre artist. Nitya has worked for the theatre companies like QTP and The Company Theatre. She appeared in the play ‘Fats the Arts Bone of Contention in Cosmopolitan’ which opened at the ‘Prithvi Festival’ in Mumbai in 2023.

Prior to debuting in movies, she worked as a content writer at Cat Cafe Studios in 2017 and as a freelance content writer at Wellness Associates and Chef Payal Gupta Food Styling in 2020. She has worked as an actor in many YouTube videos on the channel ‘Filter Copy.’ She has also appeared in videos like ‘If You Could Build Your Partner’ (2021), ‘Random Things That Happen in the Shower’ (2022), and ‘When You Secretly Date In The Office’ (2022). Nitya has published several written works on her self-titled blog like ‘Jive- A Short Story,’ ‘We Need More Loev,’ and ‘Go Go Go Chai Time.’ She is an animal lover and has a pet dog.
