Arun Kalwankar

Arun Kalwankar is a filmmaker and painter residing in Bombay in the state of Maharashtra. He is fondly known as Guruji Aruneshwar. Arun went to Sir J.J. School of Arts in Mumbai to study Fine Arts. Later he went to Paris to study a Film Making course at Paris Art College. Arun is an avid painter who has more than two decades of experience in the field. He has been conducting several workshops across various art colleges and schools and also gives guest lectures. He has been exhibiting his paintings, drawings, sketches, and poetry all across the world over the years. He is known for his spiritual and vibrant paintings depicting the mythology of our country.

Arun has been working as a producer at C- Deep, IIT Bombay since 2012. He also has experience in Multimedia and virtual arts as well as television and advertising. Arun is an advisory faculty member for several Multimedia and Art colleges. Arun has been honored with the ISHMA International Award in 2013, the Bombay Art Society award, and the Art Society of India prize for his outstanding contribution. In 2017, he was invited to the Art Exhibition at Salon Zen, Paris as a guest speaker. Many of his interviews and articles have been published in the Design Journal of South Korea, Times of India, Biscope, Buno International Graphics Triennale, and Japan Design among others.
