He worked with them in a variety of films and documentaries. Khanna made a documentary on the lives of assistant directors in the film industry of Mumbai.

It was his first independent documentary, for PSBT. From there, he has been part of several other documentaries and other feature films.

He has been part of films like Parzania and Mere Desh ki Dharti. The latter won a National Best Investigative Film Award.

A Movement, A World, A Cinema - the Indian New Wave, is a recent film of his, to be released soon and screened at the National Museum of Indian Cinema in Mumbai.
