She is the daughter of businessman Akshay Runchal. Her family hailed from McLeod Ganj, Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. Priya Runchal began her career by working at the International Finance Corporation (IFC) as a member of the World Bank. Priya met John in a gym at Bandra in 2011. She dated John Abraham for about three years and married him on 3 January 2014 in Los Angeles at a private ceremony.
