Gagarin Mishra was a veteran cinematographer known for his works in both Ollywood and Bollywood. He was born in 1953 in Odisha and had a brother, Deben Mishra Bio coming soon... >> Read More... , a notable film editor. He initially worked in the Odia film industry and subsequently worked as a cinematographer in many Bollywood films. He worked in many blockbuster Oriya films like Phula Chandana (1982) and Nai Separi Kanaka Gori (2013). In Bollywood, he worked in many films like Betaab (1983), Tezaab (1988), Chaalbaaz (1989), Lamhe (1991), Akayla (1991), Wajood (1998) and many more. For his exemplary work in the 2013 Oriya film-Nai Separi Kanaka Gori, he won the Odisha State Film Award for Best Photography hosted by the Ministry of Odisha. He also worked in many ad shoots and as a photographer for the National Geographic Channel. Sadly, he passed away on September 8, 2020, when he was 67.
