Purna Das Baul, also known as Purna Das Baul Samrat is a singer, composer, and musician of Indian origin. He was born in Birbhum in West Bengal on March 18, 1933. Purna Das Baul Samrat is considered to be the heir to the Bauls of Bengal, a group of wandering minstrels who once roamed the historical territory that is now divided between Bangladesh and various Indian states. He is the son of Nabini Das Kapha Baul and was raised in the village of Ekchakka near Rampurhat. Purna Das's wife, Manju Das Baul, is also a singer, and their son Subhendu Bapi Das Baul is a musician who works in the Baul tradition as well as in global fusion. Purna Das has received recognition for his contributions to Baul music, including an award from the President of India in 1999.

He has received several honors and awards throughout his career, including the Nadamani in 1988 and the Padma Shri in 2013.

Baul Samrat's troupe has traveled to numerous countries, including the USA, Norway, Italy, Canada, Germany, Belgium, Iran, and Luxembourg, among others. He has performed at several music festivals and events organised across the world, including the FOBANA Festival in Montreal and the World Jain Conference in Baroda, Gujarat. Baul Samrat has also released several albums and worked on various film projects. His discography includes The Bengal Minstrel, Spiritual Songs of India, Bengali Folk Songs, and Songs of the Madmen. Additionally, he composed the music for the 1983 motion picture Arohan.
