 A Filmmaker from Nagaland, Nicholas Kharkongor was born in the eighties, in a very small town called Mokuchang. His mother was Khasi and father was Naga. After his 10th, family moved to Shillong, Meghalaya. He studied at St. Edmund’s College pursuing a B.A(Hons) in economics. He briefly studied in IIM Calcutta, But quickly realized his life lay in art. He moved to Delhi in the mid-90s and took up theater.

He tried his hand on theater and then he fell in love with the intimate experience of it. After, three years he launched a film named AXONE is a film that focuses on migrant lives streaming on a famous OTT platform. Taking Comedy as its core the film focuses on racism against North-East people. The film had a world premiere on BFI London film festival. He then shifted to Bombay and discovered that there aren’t many North-Eastern actors and that was something which troubled him. It was not that difficult to cast North-Eastern actors. When he was making his film Axone he required funding for it and he went to many North-east people and the government for funding it was difficult to explain them about the film as they didn’t have much knowledge about it no one come forward for the funding which make him sad. So went back to Bombay and started reaching out to the people for funding. He was ready to take the risk. That’s how the film was made.

His next projects are a epic film which tells the Nagaland history of over 50 years, also he has set a another film  in Shillong, which he has not written but has a idea about it. He wants to continue making films from Bombay.
