Rishi Chandna is a director & producer. He is from Kolkata. He has done schooling at St. Xavier's Collegiate School. He holds a Post-graduate diploma in communications management from the School of Ideas MICA. He owns a film production house, Shoot Up Pictures, based in Mumbai. He has created film and video content for marketers, advertising agencies, and NGOs. He works for Aditya Birla Group, The Bridgespan Group, Johnson & Johnson, Linen Club, Tata Motors, Axis Bank, Bharti Axa Life Insurance, DDB Mudra, JWT India, Indigo Consulting, Greenply Laminates, URBZ, and more.

An Oscar-qualifying short film, Tungrus, brought him to fame. His movie made headlines. He visited many international film festivals such as IDFA, Slamdance, London Film Festival, and Hot Docs. Tungrus is available on many platforms, like New York Times Op-Docs, Atlantic Selects, Amazon Prime, Aeon Magazine Criterion FilmStruck, and RTL. He received awards almost 23 times, the Grand Jury Prize at Slamdance Film Festival, Best Documentary at Glasgow Short Film Festival, Audience Award at Encounters Film Festival & more. He received Best Director Non-Fiction at the first CCSFA (Critics Choice Short Film Awards) in 2018. His first feature-length fiction film will be out soon.
