Supreet K Singh

Supreet K Singh was born into a family of defense officials. Her maternal and paternal grandparents were in the Air Force and Royal Army, with her father serving in the armed forces. Supreet did not start with being a director or a writer first. She worked a corporate job for more than a decade before transitioning into a writer/director and film producer. Her first film was, Bouddi, which represented India in the French International Fim Festival in 2016 and won her the Best Director and Best Film Awards. It was nominated for more than 17 International Film Festivals. Supreet is not just a writer/director but is also a certified personal counselor.

She often conducts workshops on mindfulness and mental health and constantly works with corporates and communities to create awareness about sexual violence. She has also published her collection of poetry called, Wine /Love /Tango. She also has an illustrated book to her name, called She Is, which is basically a compilation of the stories of women leaders who have contributed in advancing sustainable development goals in India. Supreet won Best Director again for her short film, Nirbhaya Mai Asifa Mai, at the US Consulate Film Festival 2018. She has also worked as a director and writer for a few women’s cause docu-dramas and commercial ads, and produced still and motion videos/campaigns.
