Ashmit Patel is an Indian film actor and director as well. Ashmit was born on 13th January, 1978 in Ahmadabad, Gujarat. His father is and mother is the veteran Bollywood actress , who has starred in many Bollywood movies. Ashmit's sister Amisha Patel is also a very popular B-town actress. Ashmit completed his schooling from Cathedral and John Connon School, Mumbai. For his further studies, Ashmit went abroad and got admitted in University of Texas at Austin, USA and there he completed his business course and earned a bachelor's degree. In 2002, Ashmit got his career started in Bollywood as an assistant director. He assisted the famous Indian director in his various movies like "Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage", a romantic movie starring Amisha Patel and the hot B-town boy Hritik Roshan; "Awara Paagal Deewana", a comedy thriller movie; "Footpath". Ashmit Patel's first film debut was "", a Hindi romantic thriller movie that was released in 2003 and the movie was directed by Vikram Bhatt himself, produced by . The movie did not hit the mark to success. Later he starred in another Vikram Bhatt movie "murder" a suspense thriller. This movie was his first successful movie. Ashmit also hosted a TV show, "superdude" in UTV bindass channel and he was one of the final contestants in the popular TV reality show Big Boss season four, which was hosted by the bhai of Bollywood, .
