Gihani Khan is a Half-Afghan Half-Spanish actress, who is a newbie in Bollywood. She shot to fame with her first venture as a lead actress “Mumbai Mirrors” (2012) where she was cast opposite Sachin Joshi. Honestly, an Afghan at heart, she thinks and believes she will be known for her work in the industry. Gihani’s story itself is a story worth a movie. After the disintegration of the USSR, her father had immigrated to Sweden, where he had settled. Later he married a Spanish girl, who adopted Islam. Since then, both, the mother as well as the daughter are fluent in Persian, but Gihani is a notch higher. She knows fluent Swedish as well as English. She believes she is truly an Afghani at heart.

Even though she is a trained nurse, she knew already that acting and films were her callings. Gihani agrees that she never faced any restrictions from her parents when she decided to settle in Mumbai and pursue her career in acting. In fact, they were supportive enough for her decision. She fears that her role can stir up and make some eyebrows lift when they see her movie. But Gihani is pretty confident and proud of the fact that she is the first Afghani woman to portray such liberal role. Ankush is pretty happy with the results. He also adds a hidden advantage of casting Gihani, as the last name might get her enough attention in the industry after this film. To him, her international appeal and the sultry looks are apt for the role. In the movie, Gihani plays the role of a bar dancer who helps a cop locate the local goons.

In the process, she had skin show, and an erotic scene of lovemaking that was the demand of the script, but which might cause tension, to an extent at the cost of her life, from the Taliban. She mentions, previously, the Taliban has undertaken such acts against women, who, to them have been violating strict moral values of the society. The fear is still looming over her, but she is hopeful that, she will be appreciated for her role.
