Maithili Thakur

Maithili Thakur was born on 25th July 2000 at Madhubani, Bihar, India. She was born to Ramesh Thakur and Bharti Thakur. She is trained in classical music, harmonium, and tabla by her father, who is a music teacher.

Her father, realizing her excellent talent in music, shifted to Dwarka for better opportunities for him and his children. She contested for 'Little Champs' in 2011 and 'Indian Idol' in 2015.

Her breakthrough was when she became the first finalist of the TV show ' The Rising Star' and lost by mere two votes. Her brothers, Rishav Thakur and Ayachi Thakur, also followthe path of their sister. Rishav Thakur is trained in Tabla. He is an introvert compared to his other siblings. He gave up singing to master the Tabla. Ayachi Thakur, the youngest of all, sings alongside his sister in events.

She launched famous albums like 'YaRabba,’ 'AileSundarDulha,’ 'Chap Tilak.’ Among all her songs, Chap Tilak gained the most attention and love from the public. She is currently pursuing a B.A Programme from Delhi University. She is focussing on music, but she has a keen interest in the subject, political science.

She wants to join politics someday. She admires singers and musicians like Arijit Singh Most famous for his songs in Aashiqui 2, Arijit Si >> Read More... , KishoriMoonkar, RajanSajan Mishra, LataMangeshkar. She, like most singers, did not go for Bollywood and English songs instead of stuck to her cultural/classical music.
