Rahul Kumar Das, also is known as Rahul Karn, was born on 24th April 1996 in Kharajpur village Darbhanga district in the state of Bihar. Rahul hails from a non-filmy middle-class family. His father, Sunil Kumar Karn, worked as a salesman in a private company.  He did his schooling at Bihar’s ML Academy Laheia Sarai in his home town, Darbhanga. He then went on to graduate from Lalit Narayan Mithila University, thus obtaining his Bachelor’s degree in commerce.

While in his childhood, he loved writing and wrote short stories and poems. Gradually he started to sing and write songs on his own and recorded them with his phone. Upon graduating, he realized his love for hip-hop and rap, so he decided to pursue his career in music. In 2018, Rahul Karn joined the Hip Hop crew 5Tricks, consisting of members from Bihar. Without any past connections, the crew worked intending to provide fresh music. The videos became an instant hit on the internet, giving them their well-deserved attention. Initially, Rahul Karn suffered opposition from his family as they were against his idea of making a career in music. So Rahul shifted his base to Patna and started his own YouTube channel. His first YouTube music video grabbed around a million views.

After four months of shifting to Patna, Rahul received the chance to appear in India’s fist rap reality show, MTV Hustle, on MTV Channel. With the stage name Shloka, Rahul bowled over the judges, as well as the audience, with his energetic performance all through the show. He emerged as one of the finalists of the show and ended up as the 4th Runner up. The show helped him earn a name in the rapping industry. Rahul has done live performances on various occasions, including the Social Nation event and Epic Fam Jam.
