Shailesh Srivastaka is a singer and writer of Indian origins. Shailesh was born and brought up in Uttar Pradesh. She started learning music at a very young age. She was taught by the notable Rajan and Sajan Mishra. Shailesh completed her P.H.D. in Folk and Media from S.N.D.T. University in Mumbai. She is a multilingual singer who can sing in Awadhi, Hindi, Bhojpuri, Marathi, Punjabi, Sindhi, Urdu, Dogri, and Sanskrit. Shailesh has had pretty long and close associations with Doordarshan and All India Radio (AIR). She directed and produced various classical music programs for Doordarshan including Rangoli.
