Saint Bibi Santosh Kaur

Saint BB Santosh Kaur, or Sant Bibi Ji, was the head of Gurudwara Sant Ashram Bhora Sahib in Meerut. She served in the Gurudwara for almost 50 years. She has always worked for the cause of human welfare. She was born on 22nd July 1950 in Gulabwadi, Faizabad. Santosh Ji has four brothers, Jagmel Singh Sahara, Khem Singh Sahara, Tara Singh Sahara, Jasveer Singh Sahara, and a sister, Ajit Kaur. Her brother, Khem Singh Sahara, is the deputy head of Ishar Singh Maharaj Gurudwara Seva Samiti. Santosh Ji shifted to Hapur in 1958 with her family. She used to visit the Sant Ashram Bhora Sahib a lot during her childhood. She met Ishar Singh Maharaj at the Gurudwara, and he advised her not to ever marry in her life. Santosh ji completed her studies till class 10. In 1975, she had started to live in the Gurudwara and serve people. She offered various services dedicated to social welfare. She later became the head of the gurudwara in 1980.

She had devoted her life helping people who need it. She constructed a bridge over the Kali River and a long road for the people residing in the nearby villages. The villagers were benefitted a lot from the construction of the bridge. She opened an all-girls inter- college in Vigas village. The college is named after Ishar ji Maharaj. All girls are provided with free bus services. In 2002, the governor of Bihar (at that time), Sardar Buta Singh, inaugurated the Ishar Singh Maharaj Girls Inter College. She opened many inns (dharamshalas) in the area to facilitate tourists visiting the gurudwara. Day and night langars and yearly medical camps are organized in the gurudwara. She got hundreds of poor girls married and settled their lives. She has followers in India, Dubai, Canada, America, Kuwait, and in England. She died at the age of 68 in July 2019, due to a cardiac arrest. After her death, a large number of followers visited Bhora Sahib to pray for her. She was cremated near Vibhor Sahib Gurudwara in Himachal Pradesh.
