Vinod Kumar Shukla is an Indian writer who writes in the Hindi language. He was born on January 1, 1937. He was born in Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh (then Madhya Pradesh). Shukla did his M.Sc. in agriculture from Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwavidyalaya situated in Jabalpur. After finishing his studies, he pursued his career as a lecturer at Agriculture College Raipur. At that time, he was inspired by the poet Muktibodh. Muktibodh was a lecturer in Hindi at Digvijay College Rajnandgaon at that time. His career began with his first collection of poems, Lagbhag Jai Hind, published in 1971. After ten years, he published his second collection of poems called Vah Aadmi Chala Gaya Naya Garam Coat Pehankar Vichar Ki Tarah by Sambhavna Prakashan.
He is widely known for his writing style, which is based on magic realism. Several of his works have been made into movies.
