Devi Vara Prasad or popularly known as DVP is a Telugu film producer. He was born on December 6, 1943, in Vijayawada, India and completed an Engineering course in Tumkur, Karnataka. His father, Tirupatayya, is a film distributor and an associate of N.T. Rama Rao, who encouraged him to join the film industry. When his father died due to a heart attack, NTR called him to ask about his plans and suggested him to produce films. Eventually, he made his first film, Kathanayakuni Katha (1975).

Devi took a gap of more than three years before producing his next film, KD No. 1 (1978). His third film, Tirugu Leni Manishi (1981) failed miserably at the box office, though it has a good plot and combination. Tirugu Leni Manishi was his last film with NTR and then, Devi started working with Chiranjeevi in the Telugu films, Chattamtho Poratam (1985), Kondaveeti Raja (1986), and Gharana Mogudu Click to look into! >> Read More... (1992). The latter film grossed over ₹10-crore at the box office and was the most successful film under his banner, Devi Films.

Gharana Mogudu was also one of the major breakthroughs in Chiranjeevi’s career. He made a reunion with Chiranjeevi in the very controversial Tollywood film, Alluda Majaka (1995). The Board considered a ban on the film as it contains explicit materials, but Chiranjeevi’s fans organized a protest. Because of this, the Board did not ban the film, but demand to edit some obscene parts. It turns out to be a big hit at the box office and has run 100 days in over 47 centers.

In 2001, Devi has worked with Chiranjeevi in the action adventure film, Mrugaraju (2001), which was based on Stephen Hopkins Stephen Hopkins is a famous producer and director >> Read More... , The Ghost The Ghost is a Pakistani drama series in Urdu.
