Jonnavittula Ramalingeswara Rao is an Indian poet, Avadhani, and a well-known Telugu cinema lyricist. His parody music is often appreciated. Rao was born on the 7th of July, 1959, in the Vijayawada city of Andhra Pradesh, India. He was born in a Brahmin Telugu family to Subbarao Narasamma and Lakshmi Narasamma, his father being a teacher in a school. In his childhood, Rao was an active contestant in mythological dramas. Residing in the royal city of Sultans, Hyderabad, Telangana, India, Jonnavittula is married to Seshu Kumari.

He has three children, namely, Lakshmi Suvarna, Lakshmi Annapoorna, and Manikya Teja. The Telugu Film Industry experienced his active presence since the year 1987. Rao also wrote a collection of 56 Telugu poems, called Telugu Sankharavam.
