Peesapati Narsimha Murty was a Telugu actor born on 10th July 1920 in Vantaram, Andhra Pradesh. He was trained under Kilambi Krishnaacharyulu in 1934. He acted in Telugu theatre before starting his acting career in 1938 with Rangoon Rowdy. He played the role of

in PandavodyogaVijayalu in 1946 and stuck to the character throughout his career. In 1949, he won the best Sri Krishna in ‘Akhilandhra Pandava UdyogaVijayalu’ in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh.
He also won Kendra Sangitha Nataka Academy Award in 1986 and was entitled to Kala Prapoorna by Andhra University in 1983. In 1976, he was honored with the title of Nataka Kala Prapoorna by Andhra Pradesh Nataka Academy. In his whole career, he gave approximately 6,000 performances on various platforms. He was Chairman of the Andhra Artistes’ Association. He even directed the plays KurukshetramandGayopaKhyanam.Murty died on 28th September 2007 at the age of 87.
