Jai Srinivas is from a teachers' family, who has deep knowledge of music. After the song Desam Manade Tejam Manade, from the film Jai, a directorial venture of Teja, Jai Srinivas turned popular. Besides film songs, he had also crooned folk, devotional and patriotic album songs. In 2021, Srinivas was affected by Covid19. He was admitted to a private hospital in Hyderabad and was getting treatment. However, the oxygen levels lowered and Jai Srinivas breathed his last on 21st May 2021. Jai Srinivas was married and has two daughters.
