Ramaa Raavi is a Carnatic vocalist and TV presenter. He was born on 12 February 1943. He obtained a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree from Stella Maris College, Chennai. Ramaa was awarded the Muthuswami Dikshitar Bicentenary Fellowship by the Sangeet Natak Akademi. He also studied at the Dhanammal School of Music with renowned composers T. Brinda, and T. Muktha and music historian T. Shankaran. He has performed in Sangeet Sammelan recitals and has also worked in many national programs of Doordarshan and All India Radio. They also performed at the 2013 Paris Autumn Festival.
Apart from this, he also performed in the Navratri festival at Isha Yoga Centre. He also participated in the Carnatic Music Camp organized by the International Foundation for Carnatic Music. She is a Grade A artiste of All India Radio. He was selected for the Sangeet Kala Acharya Award by the Sangeet Akademi in 2011 at its eightieth annual conference. This award was given to him by former Governor of Reserve Bank of India Y Venugopal Reddy in 2012.
