Lyrics That Created Quite A Buzz In Bollywood

Lyrics That Created Quite A Buzz In Bollywood Hindi Article

Songs have always been an important part of Bollywood. From a low budget movie to a big budget movie, all have peppy numbers that get everyone grooving to their music and lyrics. Earlier the whole movie’s shooting was done in India and the whole cast and crew had to fly abroad just to shoot the songs in exotic locations. But not every song has garnered the attention for good reasons. Let’s look at the songs that caught everyone’s attention due to the raunchy and vulgar lyrics.

1. Bhaag Dk Bose ( Delhi Belly Click to look into! >> Read More... )

Goes like Daddy Mujhse Bola Tu Galti Hai Meri, Tujhpe Zindagani Guilty Hai Meri, Sabun Ki Shakal Me Beta Tu To Nikla Keval Jhaag, Jhaag..Jhaag….. Bhag Bhag DK Bose DK Bose DK Bose Bhag Bhag DK Bose DK Bhag… the song created quite a stir for of course all the wrong reasons. The lyrics directly hinted at the very vulgar and abusive word and it was not much difficult for the audience to recognize it until and unless someone very innocent was listening to it.

2. Dum Maaro Dum Click to look into! >> Read More... (Title Track)

Unche Se Uncha Banda Potty Pe Bethe Nanga, Phir Kahe Ki Society Sali Kaheka Pakhanda..Bheje Se Kaleje Se, Kaleje Se, Kaleje Se Mit Jay Hum, Maroge Toh Jiyo Bhi Dum Maro Dum.. The original version of this song starring Zeenat Aman Zeenat Aman is a trendsetter and the most versatil >> Read More... was one of the most hit peppy numbers. And this one was all gross, be it the lyrics or Deepika Padukone’s clothes or the lighting and the effects. One of the most disliked remixes of all time.

3. Munni Badnaam Hui ( Dabangg Click to look into! >> Read More... )

This song marked back the coming of the item numbers era with famous faces being the item dancers and created quite a buzz in the industry. Lyrics go like Munni Badnaam Hui Darling Tere Liye, Munni Ke Gaal Gulaabi, Nain Sharabi, Chaal Nawabi Re, Main Zandu Balm Hui, Darling Tere Liye.. The song was an alleged remix of a Pakistani track and also controversy was created around the use of the brand name Zandu Balm without having the legal permission from the owners. After that came the Sheila Ki Jawani song and it was equally hyped.

4. Aaja Nachle Click to look into! >> Read More... (Title Track)

The song had to be re-recorded because of some minister’s allegation that the lyrics were a direct hit at her. The lyrics go like Mohalle Me Kaisi Mara Mar Hai, Bole Mochi Bhi Khud Ko Sunaar Hai, Sab Ko Nachake Nachle Aaja Nachle Nachle Mere Yaar Tu Nachle.. Dalit leaders protested that the lyrics were directly hinting to them as the song was referring that gold smiths were superior to the cobblers. The lyrics were then changed to mere Dar Pe Deewano Ki Bahar Hai.

5. Chaiyaa Chaiyaa (Dil Se)

The lyrics were like Jinke Sar Ko Ishk Ki Chhaon Paaon Ke Neeche Jannat Hogi Sham Raat Meri Kaaynat Wo Yaar Mera Sainya Sainya Chal Chaiya Chaiya Chaiya Chaiya… the lyrics received rash from some religious groups for stating how can heaven be below the feet. Though it seemed like the group was just in a mood for some useless brawl. Nevertheless the song was an instant hit and had everyone grooving to its beat.

6. Chad Gayaa Upar Re (Dalaal)

The song was anything but plain. The lyrics were are Chadh Gya Oopar Re Atariya Pe Lotan Kabootar Re Gutur Gutur..Panchhi Deewana Chugh Kar Daana, Udd Gaya Phar Phar Re Atriya Pe Haa, Atariya Pe Haa Aitariya Pe Lotan Kabootar Re.. MithunChakraboty and Ayesha Jhulka The early 90s proved to be heydays of the chirpy a >> Read More... were all thrusting and swaying in the song while the poor pigeons flocked here and there and the lyricist received the thrash from having such sexually innuendo type lyrics in the song which were nowhere near to a clear pun.

7. Sexy Sexy Sexy Mujhe Log Bole (Khuddar)

The lyrics go like Sexy, Sexy, Sexy Mujhe Log Bole, Hi Sexy, Hello Sexy Kyun Bole! This song was picturised in 1993. That time a word like ‘sexy’ wasn’t feasible enough to get going through the censor board. The song wasn’t found in accordance to the generation’s sensibility and thus created a hype.

8. Choli Ke Pichhe Kya Hai (Khalnayak)

Choli Ke Peechhe Kya Hai, Choli Ke Peechhe, Chunari Ke Niche Kya hai, Chunari Ke Niche, Choli Me Dil Hai Mera, Chunari Me Dil Hai Mera, Yeh Dil Me Dungi Mere Yaar Ko, Pyaar Ko. The lyrics were sensuously asking about what lies behind the chunari and blouse. Of course it had to create controversy because that is not something that could be asked so openly about and that also in 1993. Heavens know what the lyricist meant by creating such lyrics. Nevertheless, the song was a hit among people in spite of the lyrics.

9. Bittoo Sabki Lega ( Bittoo Boss Click to look into! >> Read More... )

Chachi Seedhi Bitha Ke, Maami Ulti Ghuma Ke, Utaarega Sabki Sab Ki Kheenchega, Aur Ek Bar Shuru Hoga To Subah Hi Rukega, Bitoo Sab Ki Lega. Such are the lyrics and then they say that they do not intend on any sexual innuendos. The lyrics of this song deal with the profession of Bittoo, a photographer who will take everybody’s pictures. But the audience are mature enough to understand the pun behind the lyrics.

10. Rukmani Rukmani (Roja)

The lyrics go in this way: Rukmani Rukmani Shadee Ke bad Kya Kya Hua Kaun Hara Kaun Jita, Khidaki Me Se Dekho Jara. Baaho Me Hai Baahe Daale Mithi Baate Hone Lagee Khatiya Bhee Dhire Dhire Khat Khat Hone Lagee, Aage Pichhe Huwa Toh Jhatpat Hone Lagee. The lyrics are clearly picturise about the events that happened on the first night of Rukmani’s marriage. Even the video shots of the song were quite bold. According to the scenario of the 90’s the lyrics did not seem decent enough. The song was an A R Rahman composition.
